The Tale of Two Tables

When the CF office called with the dream to create 2 children’s picnic tables  for auction, one at 65 Roses and the other at Band of Roses,  the Yes came before the final details had been explained.

My partner in this crime CF Supporter and Starpoint mother Courtney Kennebeck invited local children diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis and their families to become artist for the afternoon along with children from Starpoint School who volunteered to support and add their creative touches.  The Rose (Table #1) made it through the auction process and has found a loving home and now it’s Brother table, inspired by the themes music and sports, is now headed to the auction block this Saturday November 9th.

With mixed emotions I set this project free to go out and do what it was created to do… inspire a generous donation to the CF organization, bring fun and beauty to some child’s life and backyard and forever tell the story of why and from whom is was created.

I’ve lost count on the hours it took to create these truly one-of-a-kind pieces, however I’ve not forgotten the community effort given by the families who showed up to paint and my own personal  support staff who continued to help and come back (3x a charm) to work on the detail and final touches.   This piece will always live in my heart and will remind me

IMG_7611of the long conversations with friends, Christy showing up with moral support both spiritually and with spirits, Ms. Courtney’s catering expertise and when the children  had enough brush strokes Daddy Day Care/pizza delivery boy swooped in on a white horse (Tahoe) as the damsels kept the paint flowing into the late hours of the night!  This piece became way bigger than the first “YES”,  the labor became the love for all those involved we evolved!  Acrylic Paint on Wood with love, friendship and generous spirits.

This piece can adorn your yard or play room by making a bid at the Band of Roses Event or commenting to this post!  An Amazing Christmas gift (yes i said it Christmas) how cool to find this under the tree!!! If this isn’t the piece for you remember your favorite artist, as shopping season starts,  original artwork is a fabulous way to say Merry Christmas!  Cheers-Brandi C.

Brandi and crew…you are amazing! These are beyond any imagination! Thank you for your time and talent!! And for saying YES!

The first table sold for 550.00 to a sweet CF family that was so excited to take home to their 3 year old daughter who battles this disease each day!

Brandi, someone like you with such talent PLUS the heart to say “YES” is, as they say priceless. Thank you for sharing yourself so generously. I have a little wood table which looks like these and which our grandkids have outgrown. If you want it to paint and donate to CF, it is yours.
